Dog-friendly City Breaks – There are many great places to visit in the UK for a dog holiday, weekend or city break. England has plenty of options for places to visit to suit all tastes. This includes a city break, an adventure in a stunning countryside or the sea in this green and pleasant country.
There are many towns and cities that are ideal for visitors traveling with dogs. Most towns and cities in the UK have dog-friendly accommodation and dining options. The good thing about traveling in the UK is that the trains are dog free and have less rules than some countries. So it’s a good choice for an Interrail adventure with a pet.

A Dog Friendly Edinburgh Break
A guide to the best places in the UK I’ve had the pleasure of visiting with Henry the dog. We have enjoyed UK city breaks, camping or beach holidays, weekends away and day trips. There are also fantastic historic places to visit with your pet, including castles and churches. One of my favorite times to explore the country is during the spring.
One of the best holiday spots is the Wye Valley. The River Wye downstream from Ross-on-Wye is stunning and it’s easy to see what an AONB it is. The area is great for camping and hiking and wildlife viewing. This is a great place to take your camera and take pictures. There are many options for pet-friendly places to stay near the river and many attractions to see.
One of our favorite places for a beach holiday is the county of Cornwall in South West England. Cornwall’s rugged coastline is special to behold in all seasons. In summer the weather is good, but winter brings big waves and storms. There are many pleasant fishing villages to stay or eat in, such as Polpero, Port Isaac or Mousehole. Small villages in the area, such as Polpero, have some good places to enjoy seafood. There are also dog-friendly pub options in Polpero. We found a variety of beaches and tide pools in Cornwall to have fun in the water with Henry.
Towns such as Penzance on the main line are within easy reach and are close to some of the best places to visit in the area. Other top places in the county with train stations are Looe and St Ives. Many places in Cornwall are very pet friendly and great places to holiday with dogs.
